Sergio Quevedo has served as Associate Director for Church Planting at the North American Division Evangelism Institute (NADEI) since May 2026. Before joining NADEI, he served as Senior Pastor of the University City Seventh-day Adventist Church in Charlotte, North Carolina, and as Assistant Church Planting Director for the Carolina Conference.
His church planting work has taken him across multiple continents, including a multi-year mission in Tokyo, Japan (Mission Unusual Tokyo!), which produced twelve church plants and two church planting residencies. He is one of the catalysts behind the ACTS church planting movement, now active in 33 sites across five world divisions and over 20 countries.
He is the author of Called to Plant: How All Believers Can Use the EPIC Method to Start New Churches and the Core Group Playbook. Sergio believes the purpose of the church is fully expressed when God's people move "from temples to tables and from programs to a community of people on mission." He is passionate about equipping pastors, planters, and leaders across the North American Division with the frameworks, systems, and coaching to turn vision into sustainable, reproducible movements.
He and his wife Raquel, a nurse practitioner, have two children, Nicolas and Natalia.
